about me

Hi, I'm Jess!

I am dedicated, well trained, and genuinely care about my client’s welfare and the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help you find a balance between mind, body, and spirit in order to create a fulfilling, enjoyable life. My counseling style is based on factors most important to me including respect, authenticity, genuineness, humor, and empathy. I strive to create a relaxed, supportive atmosphere for you to be able to reflect, be heard, and learn skills to cope with stress and emotions.

At Coastal Mind and Body, I use an eclectic approach by focusing on total wellness through individual counseling to treat the whole person. Since one size does not fit all, I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques to achieve mental, emotional, and relational health by examining the patterns present in your life and building upon the strengths within you.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor

I have worked in a variety of settings including college counseling centers, inpatient acute care psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient services. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston and my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from The Citadel.

Please feel free to ask if you would like additional information as it is important that you feel comfortable in our ability to work together.

Much like you would go to a doctor for a physical ailment, or to the gym to maintain physical health, I am here to help you best manage your mental health and learn healthy coping skills to deal with stressors in your life more effectively. Here are several areas of focus in my counseling practice:
